Dear Pipeline Pilot User,
One of the highlights of the user group meetings in recent years have been the Pet Peeves session. This is the time when we, the users, have a chance to inform our friends at Accelrys about our “Pet Peeves”, i.e. “those little things that crop up from time to time that we wish would work differently, but usually not in a way that causes a cry to the support-line."
We will be holding another Pet Peeves session at the UGM in Jersey City, New Jersey next week on Thursday morning. I have been asked to host the session, and I said yes. This means that I need your assistance. Would you please send me an email (or several emails) at pet-peeves-pp@accelrys.com with your answers to any of the following questions:
· I can't believe that they changed ______!
· Who would ever want ___________ to behave like __________!
· Why didn't they listen to me when I asked for _____________!
· Did you know that ___________ still doesn't work properly?
· Or more generally, why does _____________________?
· Why are the defaults for __________ different from ________?
· and not to be all negative:
· Wow! ___________ is great!
Think about these questions not only for the professional client, but also the admin portal, or any of the component collections that you use in your daily work.
I look forward to hearing from all of you. Screenshots, examples, etc would really help me and Accelrys!
If your comments do not fit into the format above, please respond anyhow. Also, I will assume that it is acceptable for me to indicate your name and affiliation
during the discussion session. This can be helpful if there are further details or issues that need to be followed up outside of the session. It is also helpful, if
you are attending the meeting to be present during this session to clarify technical issues, if necessary. If you wish to remain anonymous, please
send your comments directly to me at my Abbott email address below.
Please do not hesitate to speak up!
I am looking forward to a useful and productive session. Let's get the science and software moving in the right direction!
Thank you.
Regards,
Jim Metz
