what's the difference between single point calculation and molecular statics simulation?

Dear Sir or Madam:

To my understanding, Single point calculation (SPC)is conducted at absolute zero temperature with absence of molecular vibration. If so, what's the difference between SPC and molecular statics? Are they the same meaning?

The definition of molecular static can be found in the following link:
https://www-pls.llnl.gov/?url=about_pls-condensed_matter_and_materials_division-eos_materials_theory-methods-md ,
In the case of Molecular Statics (MS), the relaxed configuration of atoms is found using conjugate gradient or some similar (constrained) minimization of the total energy. This provides information about crystal lattice structure in different phases and under different conditions.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best regards,

Wesley
