Turbomole on Windows Subsystem for Linux

Hello,

as it seems that I cannot answer to the question directly (probably technical problems with my community account), here my answer as own post:

The (native) Linux version of Turbomole runs well on my Windows machine within WSL. I installed WSL the usual way and used the SuSE distribution Microsoft provides.

It is important to run the Linux binaries from the shell provided by WSL and not the Windows native .exe binaries.

The license file (license.txt) works for both Windows and Linux systems and I had no issue. Does the output contain any details of the failure? Any error messages?

The command line version of Turbomole for Linux is easy to install as it is just a tar file which has to be unpacked. For the UI TmoleX you need an X11 server on your Windows system in addition to enable it (you also have to enable OpenGL on the X11 server) but setting this up is not a simple task and it is probably better to use the Windows version of TmoleX instead.
