My computer system is as following:

Model: Precision T7500

Processor: Intel(R) Xeon (R) E5620 @2.4GHz 2.39 GHz (2 processors)

Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB(3.5GB useful)

system type: 32-bit operating system

windows edition: windows 7 professional

I use castep model to calculate 2*2*2 supercell with 32 atoms with 2 CORES of 8 processors. When it is running, CPU usage is about 21%, but memory is 80-99%.

Job is failed for: the memory required for this calculation exceeds machine capacity. unable to continue. run will be aborted.

What should I do to this problem? Thank you.

PS: I can not add more physical memory, because 32-bit operating system can only afford 4G memory.
