Hi Everyone,

A college of mine is trying to use Materials Studio 6.1 on a Windows XP desktop.  After installing the program, when they try running it it simply hangs without bringing up and splash screen or error messages.  She is connected to our license server, so I don't think it is a licensing issue.

After checking the requirements for 6.1, I noticed that XP is no longer supported.  Does anyone have any experience as to what happens when you try to run MS 6.1 in XP?  Is this the reason XP is no longer supported?  The most obvious thing is to upgrade to Windows 7 on the desktop, but that takes a while and it would be nice to know that is what the problem is (ie: not likely some hardware or other problem) before we put the effort into re-installing everything.
