Importing External Force Fields

Hi all,

I'm interested in getting a license for Materials Studio to streamline the process of simulations that I typically carry out in the LAMMPS software. I already know that Material Studio outputs can be converted to LAMMPS via the external software's msi2lmp.exe routine. However, I'm interested in being able to use Materials Studio to in combination with a range of force field paradigms (common for simulating organic liquid systems) such as AMBER and CHARMM - which have parameterisations that can be downloaded online. My understanding is that these force fields may not be natively held within the Materials Studio and Forcite applications, therefore I am interested in understanding how feasible, and especially how seamless/automated, it is to import external/updated force field files into the Material Studio software.

I asked a representative at BIOVIA about this, and they have directed me to ask the question here.

I have seen people suggesting solutions on-line that roughly follow the advice "save a copy of an existing force field file and then manually edit all the values that you want. However, this is very manual and prone to human error. Therefore I'd like to reiterate that I'm interested in solutions that are at least partially automated.

Thanks in advance for your time.
