Hi,
I'm not a user of Discovery Studio at present, but am just looking for help with extracting a density map from an old (1999-era) Insight file. It's a cryo-electron tomography reconstruction of the insulin receptor (published in Luo et al., Science, 1999. 285(5430): p. 1077). It was long thought superseded (and discredited) by the later receptor crystal structure, but my molecular dynamics simulations of the receptor are starting to bear a not-inconsiderable similarity to it. I need the actual density map to compare directly, though. One of the authors (long since retired) was kind enough to send me a copy of the Insight file with the map and their fitted reconstruction. When I open it in the free Discovery Studio viewer, it only shows me their fitted protein structure. It seems to recognise that there is a density map present (it opens up with an isosurface loaded) - but as far as it's concerned, the density map's empty. I'm hoping that someone with more experience with this software might be able to help me have a look at it and, if possible, extract it into an open format?
Thanks,
Tristan
