Discovery Studio is a comprehensive software suite for modeling and simulation in Life Sciences research. Discovery Studio is built as a Client-Server architecture with the Pipeline Pilot server to run computational jobs. The server part can be installed on the same machine with the client, or can be installed on a separate server with one or more clients connected to it.

The Discovery Studio Visualizer (DS Visualizer) is a free product, downloadable via submitting a request form from our website:

DS Visualizer offers an extensive set of free functionalities for viewing, sharing and analyzing molecular data in both small molecule and macromolecule applications. DS Visualizer 3.5 is built from, and fully compatible with Discovery Studio 3.5.

When you install DS Visualizer, the Accelrys/LicensePack directory is automatically installed. You don’t need any license to use the DS Visualizer, and when you obtain a DS license in the future, simply install the license file through the Accelrys License Administrator GUI, and DS Visualizer will become a DS Client and be able to connect to a server to run computational jobs, to access the full features of Discovery Studio.

DS Visualizer (and Discovery Studio Client) is a 32-bit application running on both Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

Graphics cards that are marked as “certified” have been validated with Discovery Studio. Non-certified and other cards are expected to work but they have not been tested officially.

Note that since DS Client is a 32-bit application, many 32-bit linux system libraries are required in addition to the 64-bit libraries. Please see the complete list of required 32-bit libraries at the page:
