Hi,
I'm trying to use the new DS ActiveX 3.1 in Powerpoint 2011 running on a Windows 7 machine. Having lots of trouble.
One issue is that I can't seem to get the Spin option to stay selected as True all the time in the control properties. Even when it is activated, the molecule doesn't always spin when in slideshow mode. I need to right click and uncheck Spin, then right click again and re-check Spin in order to get it spinning.
Also, I have a file containing an animation showing CO2 symmetric stretching. Again, I can't get the Animate option to stay selected as True. When I first go into slideshow view, nothing happens. In fact, all the frames in the animation get displayed at the same time, rather than being shown one at a time. When I exit the slideshow view, I find that Animate has reverted to False. Sometimes I see the animation working when I cycle through the Powerpoint slides several times, but the behavior is very unpredictable.
The animation files were created using the older DS Visualizer 2.0, and when I used to run the presentations using DS ActiveX 2.0, it all worked fine. Now that I've switched to 3.1, I just can't get it to work like it used to (I did try just running the presentation with the original ActiveX 2.1 controls in Powerpoint 2010, but the controls didn't work properly anymore).
Finally, I tried running the DS ActiveX 3.1 Control Samples that came with the installation, and nothing happens when I click on the control buttons in the presentation.
I don't see any security error messages when I run the presentations containing the ActiveX controls.
Thanks for you help!
Felix.
PS I attach the file I'm trying to animate for reference. The animation runs fine when I open it in DS Visualizer 3.1
