I’m a student and I have the free 1-year SOLIDWORKS student license. I also work at a company that already has its own commercial SOLIDWORKS license.

I want to use my student license only for my own educational work. The problem is that when I’m at work, I have to use the company’s Wi-Fi/internet connection.

My company is concerned about this because the student license will connect to SOLIDWORKS servers from the same public IP address that the company uses for its commercial SOLIDWORKS license.

Could this cause any problem for the company’s license?

For example, could the company be considered to be violating the SOLIDWORKS license, or could there be any kind of penalty, additional charge or licensing issue just because I’m using my personal student license on the company network?

The student license is registered to me and I’m the only person using it. I’m just using the company’s internet connection to access the internet.

I’d really like to get a clear answer on this, preferably from someone from SOLIDWORKS, because I need to explain it to my company.
