SOLIDWORKS 2026 on Surface Pro 11 (Intel Arc 140V) – Any First-Hand Experience?

Hi everyone,

I am considering buying a Microsoft Surface Pro 11 for Business (EP2-20078) with:

  • Intel Core Ultra 7 268V
  • Intel Arc 140V integrated graphics
  • 32 GB RAM
  • 1 TB SSD
  • Windows 11 Pro

I know this hardware is not officially certified for SOLIDWORKS, so I am specifically looking for first-hand experience with SOLIDWORKS 2026 on Intel Arc 140V, ideally on this Surface Pro model.

My use is relatively light and mainly academic/teaching: sketches, parts, drawings and small assemblies. A Surface Pro is particularly suitable for me because I need a very lightweight device with touchscreen and pen support for lectures, so a traditional mobile workstation would not really be equivalent for my use case.

I currently use a Surface Pro 7+ with Intel graphics, and SOLIDWORKS 2025 works very well for my needs. However, SOLIDWORKS 2026 has graphical problems on the same machine, particularly sketches becoming invisible after exiting sketch edit mode. Therefore, my main concern is not performance with large assemblies or simulations, but graphical stability with the changes introduced in SOLIDWORKS 2026.

If anyone is running SOLIDWORKS 2026 on an Intel Arc 140V, I would particularly like to know:

  • Are sketches correctly displayed outside edit mode?
  • Do parts, drawings and small assemblies display normally?
  • Have you experienced disappearing geometry or other graphical artifacts?
  • Does hardware acceleration work correctly, or does SOLIDWORKS fall back to a legacy/software renderer?
  • Which SOLIDWORKS 2026 service pack and Intel graphics driver are you using?

The Surface configuration I am considering costs around €2,500, so I would like to verify that SOLIDWORKS 2026 is reasonably stable and usable on this hardware before purchasing it.

I am not expecting workstation-class performance or official certification—just a reliable experience for normal/light CAD and teaching work.

Any direct experience with SOLIDWORKS 2026 + Intel Arc 140V would be greatly appreciated.
