Hi, we are currently looking for a solution in 3DExperience to the following problem:
As an abstraction we need an open box. We then want to place a sphere inside it and move the box in such a way, that the sphere will fall out of the box.
Due to several criteria we have settled on multibody simulations.
By now we have tried the following 3DExperience applications, to which the
annotated problems and/or exclusion criterions have been found:
1. Mechanical Systems Experience (Kinematics Simulation)
Problem: Can't move the box in multiple axes and rotate it simultaneously as Law
Excitations and Segmented Excitations need fixations.
2. Mechanical & Structural Scenario (Physics Simulation)
Problem: Way too high computional expense as internals are computed (which we don't need).
Also seemingly no way to execute a planned movement path.
3. Robot Simulation / Robot Optimization
Attempt: Attached a self-made tool (the box) to a robot arm.
Problem: Can be moved as needed, but seemingly no possibility to add gravity to free
moving objects (the sphere). The Robot Optimization seems to only target collision
avoidance.
If you know, which of the used applications would fit best and which of the noted problems
can be solved, or if any other yet untested application would be suitable, I'd be pleased
to hear about it.
