Dear All, 

I'm having an issue doing something very basic. I cannot get two parts, or components (not fully clear) in the same assembly. I'm many hours in and have studied all the available educational materials. I'm doubting the program, the universe and everything at this point!

Attempted workflow (I've attempted everything I can find): search in top bar for previously created or uploaded part; select 'insert' from the drop down menu under the right-hand arrow on the search result tile; nothing happens

workflow 2: search; drag and drop; no response, error message referring back to search function.

workflow 3: attempt to select a plane, point of insertion, surface, product or part to 'insert' at or on or in; search; select 'insert' from drop down menu; receive error messages about 'wrong insertion point selection'.

At no point can I get multiple items showing in the tree together. However if I open an assembly by another author or the demonstration ones, they display normally as expected with multiple parts in a tree.

I've also tried every sensible sounding option related to insert, such as open with/ explore. I have no problem opening parts or switching between apps. But am unable to get two parts into the same assembly in order to, well, assemble them.

What am I missing?

My licence is the engineering student, the wide ranging student access one and I am working on the cloud based apps. Basic things like restarting my computer area covered.
