Hi, I'm considering purchasing the "CATIA Mechanical for Students" license to continue working on legacy projects but my university has stopped supporting CATIA V5.
Before I buy, I want to verify how existing CATIA V5 files will migrate into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. I would appreciate some guidance on the following points:
Parametric Features: When I import native V5 .CATPart files, will they be brought in as "dumb" geometry, or will the historical specification/parametric features remain editable with the student version?
.CATProduct Files and Links: My existing assemblies rely on file-based Windows path links. If I batch-upload a .CATProduct alongside all its referenced .CATPart files, will the platform automatically resolve the links and maintain the assembly constraints?
Clarification on CATIA Mechanical and 3DEXPERIENCE ENGINEER: I saw these 2 options on the student website, would you recommend "CATIA Mechanical for Students" or the "3DEXPERIENCE ENGINEER for Students" package given my use case?
Thank you for your help!
