Help with Using 3DEXPERIENCE as n PLM Software for FIRST Robotics

Hello, My name is Ray Schmitt and I am apart of the FIRST Robotics 3DEXPERIENCE Sponsorship. I posed a similar help question earlier and haven't gotten a further reply since July. I am the Team Lead and student of the FIRST Team CORE 2062 and currently don't have a design mentor but if it would be better for our lead mentor to handle this, I can get you in contact with him.

Our team previously used GrabCAD in order to share our files with one another but since it got discontinued we have switched to google drive. We obviously find this inefficient and began looking for alternatives. We ended up choosing this to try to use instead since it seems like it will work directly with SOLIDWORKS.

What I have done so far:

- Connected SOLIDWORKS to 3D Experience

- Created a 3D Drive Folder for our team

- Created a 3D Space for our team

What I need help with

- Using either of these (Space and Drive) correctly with SOLIDWORKS, sharing with others, and using all of its PLM capabilities

- The difference between Space and Drive

Problems that came up

- Account Switching:

When we were attempting to use 3D Drive with SOLIDWORKS we ran into a problem when we needed switch accounts since all of our designer share our computers / members change every year. When we switched it wouldn't link up correctly with the files inside. This also made it impossible to access the files when we weren't on the original account that files were downloaded.

Other Thoughts:

I posted some photos on the older post to kind of see what is going on. I want to try to get this sorted out ASAP since we are starting our rookie training soon and would be a problem if we can't share files.

I also found that I don't get an email when someone adds to this posts so if you are willing to help me, it would be faster to email me at: rschmitt000@stu.waukesha.k12.wi.us

Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope that someone can help me,

Ray Schmitt
