Hi, I am trying to do a fire analysis of a wire beam with a I section applied to it but seem to keep getting the error that the time increment required is less than the minimum specified even when the minimum is set to 10e-10.
I have modelled it as simply supported with springs attached at the supports which have a 75% stiffness of the beam and allow movement in the x direction (parallel to the beam). I have done both a mechanical step and thermal step with non linear geometry on. Then applied a line load across the wire of 18kN/m and meshed it as standard, linear, cubic formulation. I got the model working when using a shell but not a wire. I have been using the following video to help model the fire case.
