Feature Tutorial Support

Is there a website that explains how specific features in Assembly design and part design (and perhabs others) work? Or tutorials configurations on a bit more advanced level? Ive been searching for weeks and have not found anything usefull.

Im using 3DExperience R2024x Academia

Examples of my specific questions:

Features:

  • How does the "Interface-based connection" work in Assemby design?  (step by step guide, examples, advanced, etc.)
  • LMC on object: "Derived Representation"
    • What is it for and how to use it, examples, implementation,  advanced usage?
  • RMC on object or under Product Modification: "Evolution / Variant Effectivity, Extend Evolution Effectivity", etc. 
    • What is it for and how to use it, examples, implementation,  advanced usage?
  • RMC on object or under Product Modification: "Create/Modify Implement Relation, Traceability Matrix", etc.
    • What is it for and how to use it, examples, implementation, advanced usage?
  • Under Product Modification: "Create a Publication, Edit/Optimize/Export/Import Publication", etc.
    • What is it for and how to use it, examples, implementation,  advanced usage?
  • Where to find extended Tutorials for the "Review" section in Part Design? Im especially interested in the "Draft Analysis" and "Parametrization Analysis".
  • Part Design -> Under "Tools" -> "Power Copy" and "User Feature"?

Assembly Maintenance:

  • Can I copy a part with its constraint? (like in SW)
  • Can I replace parts and repair constraints by single selection the changed faces/axis with some sort of assistant? (like SW)
  •  What is the most efficient method to repair missing constraints in 3DX? 
    • Example: 
      • Multiple norm parts replaced which cannot find new faces/axis, 
      • Feature of a part changed: Constraint cannot find the surface which was linked to several other parts/surfaces

Configuration

  • Can I create configurations for features in parts (like SW)?
    •  Example: 
      • Config screws: nominal/outer diameter, 
      • Config springs: different distances, etc, 
      • Config E-chains/dampers: nominal/ extended
      • Others like rivets, welding bolts, nuts, etc.
    • Or is this solved by using the features in Part Design under "Structure" -> "Mechanical Interface Creation"? If so: any advanced tutorials?
  • Can I create configurations for constraints between parts in an assembly?
    • Example:
      • Relative distance of two parts to each other
      • Open/Closed/Specified Angle of a lid of a box or a door, etc.
      • Configurable Static/ Dynamic interaction of a hinge constraint. (from driven to meassured or controlled)
  • How can I access/ configure the configured products table of sub- and subsubassemblies?
    • Example:
      • Light/Standard/Dummy configurations of Maschine Assemblies (consisting of many subassemblies with configured product tables to unload screws or replace parts with dummies)
    • Efficient Method? Is there an option for a dropdown menu for configs? (Like SW)

Accelerated Work, QoL, Overview, Efficiency

  • To which command do I have to define a dedicated accelerator to open an Item in a new app? 
    • Accelerator on RMC: [Object Name] object: Open In New App => Does not work consistently, it sometimes just gives me an error, while using the RMC works.
  • To which command do I have to define a dedicated accelerator to collapse the entire tree? 
    • Accelerator on RMC:Display:Tree Expansion: Collapse All => Does not work.
  • Is it possible to place an accelerator on specific assembly constraints or assembly group constaints?
  • Does assembly pattern only work for holes with a feature pattern or is there a way to use the multihole feature?
    • What is the most efficient way to determine the original feature (ex. hole)  that is patterned without going down and searching the entire feature tree? Im asking because it seems you can only correctly assembly pattern, if the part/assembly is constrained on the original feature.
  • Circular pattern, Linear pattern, etc. for parts/assemblies in Assembly design?
  • Can I pattern a pattern in Part design?
    • Is it feasible without creating a second body, pattern that second body, and then pattern the assembled body? (Does not work if I need to triple pattern, ex. mirror pattern.)
  • Can I create folders in the feature tree in Part design and part tree in Assembly design for organizing purposes?
  • Tree Reordering command in Product Modification: Can I move mutlipe Items several steps at once?
  • Tree Reordering by Drag and Drop command in Product Modification: Can I move mutlipe Items several steps at once?
  • Can I unload a part without removing it from the list (like supress in SW)? If not: How do I load it back in the most efficient way without saving and reloading the assembly?
  • How do I reload a specific part in an assembly that I accidentally changedthe most efficient way?  (For example changing the visbility of the planes of a part flags it as changed: blocked for revisioning) 
    • Current solution: Save all -> Unload changed part -> Open assembly in Product finder -> Open assembly from product finder again.

Additional:

  • How do I delete my saved Favorites under Profile: My Favorite Content?
    • The items were saved by: Profile: Extension on My Favorite Content: Add to Favorites. 
    • I do not find any delete or remove button.
  • How do I hide/ remove the highlighted thread sketch profile after using "Thread/Tap Analysis" und Assembly the most efficient way?

    • Current solution: Open every part that has a highlighted sketch in it.
