Currently I am trying to model an axis-symmetric model in Abaqus. This pressure vessel will have an composite layup. However, I have tried multiple methods to simulate this, without success.

My first method was using the composite layup window. But then I get the error I am using the incorrect property type. Another method I tried is discretizing each ply a different section and assigning a orthotropic (engineering constants) to the section and transforming it to ply coordinates using orientations. However then I get the error that the stacking direction should be in the 3 or z-direction, while I require the stacking to be in the Y coordinate. I am using the standard definition for a axis-symmetric model, where the model is rotated around the y-axis (vertical) and the x-axis is horizontally.

Does anybody have a solution to define the composite layup for this axis-symmetric model.
