Hi guys, 

I've been trying for a while to create a Symmetry using Assembly Symmetry command without creating a new part (just instantiate the original part). 

I've read the documentation and figured out that by using the Same Reference option will help me. However, look what happens when new reference is selected (pic.1) vs what happens when same reference is selected (pic.2). 

I've tried different things, like changing the constraint plane, but with no luck. 
I've also tried to access a best practice document from the knowledge base, but it appears it is not working... 

Can someone please tell me what am I missing?
