I have a file with an assembly of several parts. it is now a .prt file format. I can open it in solidworks, but i want to convert the assembly to parts, so i can edit them separately, and save it as it was an assembly with separate parts as it would be if originally modelled in solidworks. 

When I open the file, it only shows the complete assembly, but it is not possible to "edit parts".

I have tried different options before i open the .prt file, in the "import options dialog box", - import multiple bodies as parts, but it did not lead to a solution

Would be nice with some help..Thank you in advance
