I've been using SOLIDWORKS since 2012, and I've never noticed this behavior before.
I'm working on a drawing in SOLIDWORKS 2023 and noticed something strange when using Smart Dimension.
When I measure from a centerline to a corner/vertex that is on an angled feature, the dimension is created correctly, but the measured value is calculated based on the angled direction of the dimension, rather than the straight horizontal/vertical distance in the front view.
In the attached screenshot, the dimension I am having an issue with is the one shown between parentheses ( ).
Interestingly, I have noticed that this only happens when I use Smart Dimension. If I use a different dimensioning method, I don't get the same result.
Is this expected behavior in SOLIDWORKS 2023? Is there a setting or option that controls how Smart Dimension determines the measurement direction in this situation?
Has anyone else experienced this with Smart Dimension in SOLIDWORKS 2023?
Thanks!
