I am working on my project with the Creative Experience App and I need to add a sectional view of a product. The added pictures show the product, an extruder for a 3D Printer, and the sectional view of it I would like to add to my experience. The same problem applies to a second extruder I need to add.

My goal is to show the extruder in the complete version and to implement a close view with detail information about the internal components. When switching to the close view I want to show the sectional view.

Therefore, I need a separate product / part containing the sectional view to be able to hide / show the complete version and sectional view version accordingly.

First, I tried to use the function “Assembly Cut” in the assembly design but there is the problem, that every part in the product got cut itself. So, there is no possibility to have both (complete and cut version) in the Creative Experience.

My second attempt was to create a “Derived Representation”. In that representation I added all bodies to one body and cut the body containing all geometry with the Boolean operation “Remove”. That way I was able to create a sectional view of the extruder. The problem here is, that the derived representation is only a shape, which I cannot expose in the Creative Experience. When I expose every part of the product and hide everything, the geometry of the derived representation is still visible and cannot be hidden. I added a picture of that problem so you can see what I mean.

To my question, is there a way to add a sectional view to the Creative Experience so I can realise my plan on showing the internal components of the extruder?
