I'm just getting started with xDesign for Makers and want to model a screw conveyor with screw flights.
Two specific things I'm looking for help with:
First: What's the best approach in xDesign to set this up properly? Is there a way to define outer diameter, inner diameter, pitch, and wall thickness as parameters, so I can quickly run through different variants without rebuilding from scratch every time?
Second: How do I get from the 3D model to the flat pattern of the individual screw flights? The cutting dimensions are what matters for manufacturing in the end. Is there a direct way to do this in xDesign, or does that require a separate step outside the tool?
I'm not a CAD expert, so practical step-by-step explanations are very welcome. If anyone has a short video walkthrough or knows of one, that would be ideal.
Who has done this before and can point me in the right direction?
