Hello,
I’m running into limitations with X-Motion animations and was hoping you might know if there are any workarounds available within 3DEXPERIENCE .
Right now, X-Motion only allows me to export animations as 3DXML, while the other export formats available from X-Design (STEP, IGES, ACIS, STL, 3MF) only include geometry—no animation data. I have not found any way to render or export an animation directly from X-Motion or X-Studio.
Because of this, I’m trying to transfer the animation into Blender for rendering, but Blender does not support 3DXML. Before assuming it’s impossible, I wanted to ask if any of the following might be possible within 3d experience:
- Is there any way to convert 3DXML to an animation-friendly format such as FBX, GLTF, or Alembic?
- Is there any 3DEXPERIENCE app with animation playback/export capabilities that can use the “Animation Representation” saved in the 3DXML file?
- Is there a workflow or hidden setting that allows X-Motion animations to be exported in a standard animation format—or recorded as a renderable video?
At this point, I can create and replay the animation inside X-Motion, but I cannot find any method to render it or transfer it to another program. If It Can't transfer, I will just have to use animations in blender.
If you’re aware of any workarounds or additional apps we might have access to, I’d really appreciate your guidance. xStudioxMotion DesignxDesign
