Hi all, I will explain my dilemma.
We have a screw (appx dia300mm x 1500 long) with differing pitchand core diameter. What a customer has done for us is:
1. Had reference points (x,y) done axially along the length of thescrew.
2. Rotated the screw 0.35 deg and measured again (1024 measurementsfor the full circle)
3. Then supplied the data in xls format (x,y,Angle of rotation)
What my boss wants is for me to convert this into a solid. I havemuddled around with 'points importer' in Autocad but this wouldtake a heck of a lot of time.
Also with the way it was measured, when I join the points its not"smooth"
As this will finally end up for a cadcam program is there a "smoothit out" command?SolidworksGeneral
