Dear Santa Jankowski,
The improved user interface on this forum is lovely and in manyrespects is entertaining to use. I realize that a significantamount of labor and treasure has been applied in this upgradeeffort. Huzzah and cheers! Keep up the struggle! This message isintended as constructive criticism. If out of all that follows youcan grant only one request, let it be for an easier way to spotread messages.
I have conversed with several people offline about this forum tofind out why they no longer participate. Locking outnon-subscription people was not taken lightly. More significantly, the loss of content (attachments and archive) and difficulty inidentifying previously read messages sent them off into the ether. All of them concurred with me that it is courageous and honorableof SolidWorks to host a forum like this. Inviting people topublicly criticise you is noble.

- Some nits to pick:
- My online indicator bulb randomly glows.
- When I click on the "show polls" icon, it tells me there are nopolls but I know that some existclickto a poll. (see attached screen capture).
- When I check My Forum Profile>Personal Options, I have someCategory Subscriptions selected (and I also have subscribed to sometopic threads) but when I click on My Forums>Subscriptions thereare none listed!
- My Forums > Hot Topics is always blank.
- My Forums > Latest News is always blank.
- Requested Forum Features (you'veaddressed some of these before, but with answers I didn't like)
- My Forums > Latest Category Posts always defaults to 5 andAnimator. I'd like it to remember my last setting prior to clickingon Submit.
- My Forum Profile: if the country isn't USA then display thedates in DD/MM/YYYY (and covert all numbers to metric).
- That last bit is humor.
- Reveal the identity of SolidWorks responders (the anonymouscollective SolidWorks user is icky).
- Custom author icon isn't there. Why not have us upload ourimage (just as we do for attachments)? The script could then findthe user designated icon in the user's upload folder.
- The multi-step attachment process would make Kafka proud!
- FAQ page still seems to be missing.
- Attachments in the old forum still seem to be asterisks (seethe humorous poem quoted below).
- My former poster identity was COSUG and I would prefer to usethat moniker in this forum.
- I sure wish there was a way to easily spot unread messages!
- Thread indenting is curiously presented. I seldom understandwhich post connects to another without careful study.
- The method (what is included and why) behind Latest Topicsescapes me.
- Who controls the New Message counts on the Forum Home page?Does she take bribes?
- Chat seems to be a pending feature.
- WYSIWYG editor is a pending feature.
- Spell check is a pending feature.

Little Sally donned her skates
Upon the ice to frisk.
Wasn't she a silly girl,
Her little * ?
