I work for a manufacturing company that designs andmanufactures stainless steel equipment for the food pocessingindustry. On many occasions we need to make transition sections, square to round, rectangle to round, offset square to round, andthat sort of thing. It is a major headache however to try to getthese modelled up so that a proper flat blank is produced that canbe folded on a pressbrake.
I have tried using the lofted bend approach and used a polygoninstead of a circle to try to represent the how it will actually bemanufactured. It looks okay as a model, BUT, both in SW2006 SP5.1and SW2007 SP2.1 bend lines do NOT appear in the flat pattern andthe measure tool will not select any of the facets created so Icannot check bend angles.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this or can someonesuggest another method or workaround.SolidworksSheet Metal
