When installing PDM Standard on Windows 10, I found that the Express instance "(local)\SWPDM" service "SQL Server (SWPDM)" installs with a Startup Type of "Automatic". However, every time I restarted my machine, I found that the SQL Server service for the Express instance would not automatically restart. Switching the Startup Type to "Automatic (Delayed Start)" seemed to fix the issue. So I would suggest using Automatic (Delayed Start) in general to avoid any issues with SQL services starting up on reboot.

I only noticed it with the SQL Server service, not the SQL Server Browser or SQL Server VSS Writer services, by the way.
