Was reading about Page file size versus no page file at alland did some time comparisions.
Machine is a HP Workstation xw8200
WinXP 64 SP2
Intel Xeon 3.6 cpus
4 gb of ram
Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI w/ 256 mb ram
Default page was set to 2046 min / 4092 max (from factory)
From a fresh boot up of WinXP, the time for SolidWorks to fullystart up along with the spaceball drivers:
Default Page file size: 39.7 s
No Page: 42.6 s
Time to open a typical assembly from fresh start:
Default Page file size: 27.8 s
No Page: 26.1 s
Close and reload the assy time:
Default Page file size: 12.1 s
No Page: 12.0 s
Not really seeing a huge difference here as I was hoping to. Arethere any other tweaks that can be done to improve performance? Isthis start up time of ~40 seconds typical?
