The New CSWP Exam Now Available

The SolidWorks Certification Group has just released the newest version of the Certified SolidWorks Professional Exam.  The newest release of the exam features all new content, and a an new format for taking the exam.

The CSWP exam is now broken down into three segments instead of one continuous exam.  The three segments can be taken in any order the user chooses, and at a schedule of their liking.  This will mean users no longer have to set aside a three hour block of time to take the exam.  If you fail one of the segments, you will be able to purchase and retake just that segment instead of having to repurchase the entire exam.  Once you pass all three segments, you will automatically receive your CSWP Certificate.  The combined time of all three segments is three hours and thirty minutes (3h 30m).

The \$99US price of the exam remains unchanged, and in the event a segment needs to be retaken, they are priced at \$33US each.  The CSWP exam requires the use of at least SolidWorks 2008 or later, SolidWorks 2009 Student Edition, or the current SolidWorks Engineering Stimulus Program edition.  Part of the exam requires the modification of SolidWorks features and configurations to an existing model that you download, so only the use of SolidWorks will allow you to successfully complete most parts of the exam.

SolidWorks Customers who have active Subscription Service are entitled to one free CSWP or CSWA exam for each seat of software, and can access that benefit through this link.  You may also want to follow various SolidWorks Blogs, or attend a local SolidWorks User Group Meeting for your chance at getting a free exam coupon from time to time.
