Supressing a feature without suppressing its children

I just suppressed a feature that I expected to be childless.Turns out, for some reason almost all the holes were dimensioned toit. I did not realize that things other than it were suppresseduntil I went back to my assembly and got a lot of mate errors. Isthere something I should have checked so that it will ask me if Iwant to suppress the children or just some of the children? Isthere some way to get it to tell me that it is suppressing morethan one thing?

This is a model that someone else started, so it is possible that Iunsuppressed things that I should not have because I did not knowwhat had been suppressed by me and what may have been suppressedearlier. Because I did not realize that more than one feature hadbeen suppressed, I hit save and then changed to the window with theassembly. I do not think that the undo arrow was available to mewhen I came back to the part. (It seems to not be available when Imost need it.)

I ended up deleting the feature rather than suppressing it so thatI could change what everything referenced.SolidworksParts And Features
