If this post gets booted so be it but I am not a happy persontoday
I use SW Classic 2007 and am on subscription. I paid£3995 plus£995 subscriptions. Or in US dollars approx\$8000 plus \$2000 -\$10000.
Today I checked with my VAR to get the costs for upgradingtoOffice Pro or Office Premium. UK pricing for these are:
Office Professional £5300 plus £1250/year orupgrade £1300 fromClassic
Office Premium £6300 plus £1500/year or upgrade of£3300 fromClassic
Note the last figure!
£3300 to upgrade when the price differential is£2300 - where doesthe extra £1000 come from?
Are companies like SW really playing fair. They complainaboutpiracy and yet, along with Autodesk, UGS and PTC, operateunfairpricing policies in certain markets.
So sure this is all sour grapes I hear you all say, but it isnot.I am trying to compete against companies from all over theworld, many of whom I am damn sure are using pirated software. Yetthecompanies I choose to partner with seem to think my legality isalicense for exploitation.
I'm curious- how much do you pay for SW or Inventor orSolidEdge orPro/E in your market? I bet it would make interestingreading.
From my point of view SW are missing added revenue from me. Iwon'topt for a higher level package. Instead I'll buy Hypershot fortherendering and 3rd party products.
