Morning all,
After coming back from the yesterday, my Solidworks 2016 is very very slow to the point it isn't even usable. Launching the program seems to take a few minutes longer, seems like it takes longer to load the registry. Once the program is open, the menus are slow, a simple part takes about 25-30 seconds to open (as opposed to around 5 seconds before I'd guess), assemblies take minutes, when in a part the lag from the program is so extreme I can't pan around or do anything. Even trying to close the program takes a minute. The only thing that doesn't seem to have any issues is the options menu, that works smoothly like it should. I have ran the Solidworks Rx Diagnostics and all comes back green. I have ran the benchmark and my results are decent I think? When it goes through the process of benchmarking everything looks to be absolutely flawless, experiences no lag.
Here's my specs:
Dell Precsion Tower 5810
- Intel Xeon E-1607
- 16 GB RAM
- Nvidia Quadro M2000 (Driver ver. R440)
Here's what ive tried:
- Checked/Updated my GPU drivers: (Nvidia Quadro M2000) was previously on V357 (I believe) now on version R440.
- Checked for recent windows update: last one was 8/20 which was well before this issue started
- Launched the program in OpenGL mode to see if it could be GPU related which didn't make a difference
- Tried changing the registry file to a different name so that SW could recreate the regfiles incase something was wrong there, which again made no difference
- The infamous "try turning it off and then back on again"
- Even left it over night to see if it could have been a license server issue or something else crazy like that (idk I'm lost in the dark here)
- Reset my all of my settings back to default, in hopes I accidentally turned something on/off
I would like to go in and do a installation repair, but unfortunately I work for a large scale cooperation and I pull a license from a network. I personally do not have access to do the repair install (the modify option is grayed out in the app manager, only uninstall is available for me), so until my IT guys across the globe can step in and help me out, I am looking for any possible options that might help me out.
I have been using SW16 with this particular PC for about a year now with no issues, so I clueless as to what the problem is all of a sudden.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Also, not sure where this post should be posted too. Just created this account to search the forums but didn't find any useful posts to help me.
Thanks
