I would like to share with you some information on the SolidWorks Materials Web Portal. The SolidWorks Materials Web Portal is a large online database of materials that can be used for all types of SolidWorks Simulation studies. The database is hosted through a partnership with Matereality LLC. The properties of the materials in the database come from published standards for materials, material vendor data or through materials testing by DatapointLabs (the materials testing company that is a sister company of Matereality LLC). The SolidWorks Materials Web Portal is available to SolidWorks 2014 users of SolidWorks Simulation Professional and SolidWorks Simulation Premium with active Solidworks Subscription Services. The attached video provides a demonstration of the SolidWorks Materials Web Portal and shows you how to download a material from the portal to be used in SolidWorks. Note, the SolidWorks Materials Web Portal will be one of the focus areas for testing for Week 5 (July 22, 2013 to July 26, 2013) of the SolidWorks 2014 beta program. You will earn enhanced Beta points for testing the SolidWorks Materials Web Portal during Week 5.
