I'm working on 2018 version and routing wires for an assembly that has multiple electrical components, printed circuit boards, and connectors. I have a line diagram that has the connectivity information of the system. So far I've made progress connecting the connectors to each other without defining route paths. The cables are created and the route is whatever Solidworks sees fit. However, I face problems when trying to route between connection points that do not originate from connectors. In my case, the electrical components and PCB's have screw terminals and the wire is just supposed to pop out of the component itself. "Missing connection point for cable" error message pops up indicating that I should add a cable connection point. However, the Electrical Component Wizard does not have an option, as far as I know, for inserting various cable connection points within an electrical component. Also, is this point really required or does something else resist the routing? I've been wrestling with this challenge for quite a while and I'd assume there should be a straight-forward method for this type of routing.
