CAD Designer

Job Summary:

Offer CAD support while working with product development team performing work in ideation, design, planning and execution of projects to support generation of innovative new products.

Organizational Relationship:

This position reports to the lead Engineer and work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Supply Chain, other Engineers, Drafters, and Manufacturing representatives for the development and application of product solutions.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the generation of concepts for innovative products with features based on the following: customer contact, distributor contact, field sales team input, and experience / intuition regarding our markets, market research, ideation exercises, and other methodologies as needed.

Support engineering research, design, development, and manufacture of parts and components with robust CAD modeling and documentation per Y14.5

Provides estimates and works with lead engineer to help set schedules for the team to meet project completion dates.

Performs all duties within the business Conduct Guidelines

Education & Experience:

Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent work experience.

SolidWorks Certified (Proficient in SolidWorks with a Minimum of 1,000 hours CAD modeling /design experience)

Position Requirements:

The position requires the ability to efficiently document and manage change for new and sustained product lines.  Mechanical design work may involve manipulation of complex assemblies and/or a wide variety of part types/manufacturing methods (castings, machining, weldments, and plastic). Experience with heavy mobile equipment is desirable.  Hydraulic system experience is a plus. Candidate should have the ability to clearly communicate to customers and suppliers orally or in writing.  Strong preference given to candidates with prior hands on experience in a design and manufacturing.
