Simulation Applications Engineer - ON, CANADA - SOLIDWORKS VAR Job

Javelin Technologies, Canada’s leading provider of 3D Technology, is expanding our team and looking for a dedicated Applications Engineer for our Technical Services Division in our Oakville Office.

An individual who is well spoken, a fast
learner, has positive energy. As part of the Technical Services Team this role
is responsible for providing SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION product
support, implementation and consulting services, and in time product course instruction for SIMULATION Professional,
Premium, Motion and Flow (CFD).

PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive technical support for SOLIDWORKS
    and SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION product training and product positioning
  • Train customers on SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS
    SIMULATION products
  • Travel to customer sites (10 – 20% of the
    time) to provide onsite support and training (occasional weekend and evening
    travel estimated less than 5% of the time)
  • Liaise with customers and in-house staff and
    partners regarding technical information as related to SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS
    SIMULATION
  • Troubleshoot issues with training equipment
  • Write technical articles, record screen
    capture video of software processes for publishing to the organizations
    technical blog
  • Compose and deliver a technical presentation
    at SOLIDWORKS WORLD annual convention in 2-3 years and then maintain on a 2-3
    year interval

QUALIFICATIONS &
REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid experience with SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION,
    FEA or CFD required
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience
    utilizing SOLIDWORKS 2015, 2014, and/or 2013
  • Minimum of a 3 year Mechanical Engineering
    Technology Diploma required, Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Degree
    preferred
  • Must have STRONG verbal, written and
    listening communication skills
  • Experience providing technical support
    services preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical CAD and
    design industry required
  • CAD and/or solid modeling experience with
    design experience required
  • Excellent customer relations ability
    required
  • A creditable and lively presenter with a
    professional demeanor
  • Solid understanding of engineering process
    and terminology, and solid modeling process and jargon
  • Capable of computer networking and
    troubleshooting
  • Well versed with Microsoft Windows 7
    interface and functionality, and familiar with Windows 8
  • SOLIDWORKS CSWP or CSWA certification an
    asset
  • Experience with other SOLIDWORKS products such
    as: ENTERPRISE PDM, and/or 3DVIA COMPOSER is a valuable asset
  • Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office Suite 2010/2013
    (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint is an asset)
  • Additional industry experience (Product
    design, tooling design, mold design, industrial design, electrical systems
    design) an asset
  • Must be capable of briefly lifting up to 65
    lbs. (mobile laptop cases consisting of 4 laptops and Peripherals)
  • Ability to travel to the United States of
    America preferred
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation
    and a Valid Driver’s license
