Let's say I want to create a cross section view of a steppedcyclindrical shaft. For the first step, I need to sketch a line thelength of the shaft. So I drag the cursor over the mid point at theend of the shaft and move the cursor outside the end of the shaftfor my starting point. In Inventor, when select the midpoint at theend of the shaft and then dragging the cursor outside the shaft, itshows a dashed line letting me know I'm still on the center line ofthe shaft. Then I can extend the line past the other end of theshaft and I get a full cross section.
But SW doesn't show me the dashed line so I have to lock onto thecenterpoint at the end of the shaft as my start point and thenextend the line outside the opposite end. But since the one end ofthe line is locked onto the end of the shaft, I don't get a fullsection line arrow line at the one end outside of the end of theshaft and I can't drag the arrow line out as it is locked onto thepoint.
There is probably a real simple solution but I couldn't figure itout using the Help section of SW.
Thanks in advance!SolidworksGeneral
