I'm trying I create a pattern on a vase shaped structure. The problem I'm running into, is I want the pattern to be scaled and have the same ratio from the top all the way to the bottom. By that I mean I want all 18 rows to have 72 diamonds. But since the diameter at the top of the vase is much larger than at the bottom, I can't figure out how to get all 18 rows of the pattern to print. Do I have to scale each row individually? Is there a way to scale and pattern all in the same action? Attached is a very rough sketch of what I'm trying to explain. As you can see, the bottom row can only fit ~40 diamonds, so I know they need to be scaled down in order to make 72 of them fit around the bottom diam. Any suggestions? Could somebody play with this and let me know your thought? I've played with curved pattern and circle pattern and linear patterns, but cannot get it to create what I want. And going row by row is very tedious.
