I am designing an export crate, made up of steel stock suchas 1.5 x 1.5 or 1 x 3 or 1 x 3.
Anyway, I always create my designs in one part drawing, withmultiple bodies. So I don't merge extrudes. I know a lot of peoplewould make each individual piece a seperate part, and create thecrate as an assembly. I prefer to do it in one part file, as itgives some flexability when designing, and I dont have to 'matehunt' to make changes.
Now, I take the bodies, and do a save 'save bodies' and create anassembly, converting each body to a part file, and making a splitassembly... How do I make a bill of materials recognize like parts?So, I have one part, used 4 places, but when I insert the BOM, itlists each as a seperate part, as opposed to the same piece at aQTY of 4. It lists 16 parts, when it should only be 8 parts withmultiple quantities.
