This behavior is exhibited in SW2019 SP5. It may have been corrected in later releases.

Several of my property tab fields pull data from an Excel spread sheet. We recently upgraded from SW2014 to SW2019 and from Workgroup PDM to PDM Standard. Initially, I set up a Test/Sandbox vault and later deployed our Production vault. The Excel source file for the property tab templates resides in the vault.

Initially, the path to the Excel file (within Property Tab Builder templates) pointed to the test vault. When the Production vault was deployed I updated all of the Property Tab template file paths to point to the Excel file in the Production vault. The Excel file in the Test vault and the Production vault are essentially duplicates.

Much later I noticed I was being asked to log in to the test vault. Some diagnosis finally showed that the Property Tab Builder templates were all still pointing to the Test vault version of the Excel file. Hmmm. I guess I forgot to update that. I checked out the templates, edited the paths with copy/paste, saved, check in the templates.

And noticed again later I was being asked to log in to the Test vault. Some more diagnosis showed all of the paths were again pointing to the Test vault.

What I finally determined was that manually editing the Path: string is ignored when you save your property tab builder template. Typing; Copy/Paste - all discarded. The change can only be effected by clicking the selection ellipsis next to the path and selecting the file.

I recognize this might be a rare case issue for most but I wanted to capture my finding for others.
