I just came across the following on the SolidWorks customerportal.Does anyone know how restrictive this will be? We usesimpleregistration code-based licenses now, and I would hope not tobefaced with headaches when it's time to use a laptop orconferenceroom PC for a presentation.
Thanks,
Wallace

Beginning with SolidWorks 2007 SP3, all customers in NorthAmericaand Japan with standalone-licenses will beginusingactivation-based product licensing. Customers in certainportionsof Europe, Asia-Pacific, Japan, Latin America and NorthAmerica arealready using activation-based licensing. From ServicePack 3 -applying SPs or new installations will require the user toactivatetheir license on that computer before use. The activationprocessis much faster than the previous registration process, nowrequiring only three simple steps. After activation, thelicensecan later be transferred to a different computer.

Question: What if I have more than one computer? Does thelicenseallow me to use the software on multiple machines?Answer:Thecurrent SolidWorks End-User License Agreement allows theprimaryuser, the one who uses that computer more than 80% of thetime itis in use, to also use the Software on a portable or homecomputerwhile the original copy is NOT in use.
