Much of the mechanical equipment being designed or utilizedby my present client requires that sub-assemblies must be alteredor re-used for various purposes. In most cases, I need to change asub-assembly without any other main assemblies being affected. Ihave tryed the save as copy option but the "domino" effect seemsunavoidable. I am fairly new at SolidWorks so I presume that I ammissing some critical knowledge that will allow me to "control" ormanipulate my data-base in whatever way I see fit. In the case of"vector" CAD, one need only save files under different designationsto isolate geometry. I want the same ease of use in regard toparametric models if it is at all possible.

I new on the Forum and I plan to post my queries often. The"dilemma" described above is the first of many to come.
