A little while ago, Mark Biasotti challenged us to submit bug reports for any time we wanted to create a plane from exisiting geometry/sketches, but couldn't: https://forum.solidworks.com/message/127836 . Now, if I actually submit this to my VAR, they will come back to me with "oh, but if you create some sketch geometry..." then they will show me a work-around.
So let me just post this here first:
I need to create a plane that is normal to this cylinder (a drilled hole). I need to cut a new counterbore using a new drilled hole (so the counterbore has a tapered end to match the drillbit). I can do this easily, if I can only first create a plane at the end. I tried to select the cylinder (drilled hole), and then a point at the very end of the cylinder. Then the plane PropertyManager comes up (note that it is not full size, this is how it always shows up), but the only option I get is Tangent. I want "Normal" as an option.
