I have a project to do that seems to be custom made forSolidworks and the 3D capabilities that it has.
The project starts out with a base assembly that needs to haveother assemblies mated to it. In order to keep the assembly sizedown and the number of top level mates down with the result ofbetter organization I take the first assembly and nest it inside anew assembly which contains the next level of subassemblies. Thisnesting goes on for five or six levels. When done I have about 600parts and sub assemlies in the total project. While memory usage isnot that large and file size seems to be OK and it loads quickly. Iam having huge performance issues as I get to the later assemblies.
I might try to describe it this way. The project is like littleRussian Dolls or like cannisters set upside down, one on top of theother. Say that there are six cannisters. The sixth cannister onthe top is that largest and contains all of the information in thelower cannisters. When I get to the top fifth or sixth cannisters(sub assemblies) I start to notice real performance problems.Solidworks 2007 and xp pro x64 has helped little if any at all.
Any suggestions would be real helpful, as I would like to keepusing Solidworks for these projects.
I have been advised to attempt to keep my subassemblies side byside in the feature tree manager, but my project can not be builtthat way. They have to be nested on in another or in one largeassembly, which does not work either.SolidworksAssemblies
