Well my new i7 beast is here and ive got SW2009 SP0 runningok so far. Downloading SP1 as I type but figured I'd run somecomparison benchmarks before I installed it.

PC Specs are:-

Intel Core i7 940 @ 2.93Ghz
6GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard
150GB VelociRaptor 10,000rpm HDD
Windows Vista Business 64

Punch Holder rebuild = 63.88 seconds
Sheet metal carrier rebuild = 37.89 seconds.

These are straight out the box on a fresh install of SW 2009 SP0with NO overclocking or system tweaking.

I'll see if SP1 has any effect. Then I'll try running the PV360benchmark.

Total cost of the system came to £1700.

Not had any crashes yet. System is running nice n smooth. Frompressing the power button the login screen is 28 seconds.SolidworksAdministration
