I have a part I have modeled and I changed the material toCopper and it still has the gray color. I am not nor do I want touse realview but even if I switch to realview it stays gray. I amusing SW 2009 R3.
I had to reload my system this week and I was on SW 2009 R2 and wasnot having this problem but since I reloaded my computer andupdated to SW 2009 R3 mt material colors are screwed up.

Dell M6300 Laptop
Windows XP sp3
Nividia Quadro FX 1600M Driver 156.79 (same as before re-loading)
