Hi,

I'm using Solidworks 2018 and using a part as base reference to all drawings and measurements of many other parts. The base part has multiple configuration. Later the multiple different parts using the base part reference through inserting it in part file.

Now the problem is, all parts using the base part through insert part feature, have fixed configuration selected in feature. But what I want is that, whenever I change the configuration of base part and save it. All the other parts using it, should use that new saved configuration, not fixed one.

I can change the configuration by editing insert part feature but thats just too much manual work for hundreds of parts.

Previously I was using Design Table, but its kind of buggy. And if design table excel file is modified, all parts using it must be updated by opening them one by one and rebuild.

Is there any way to do that ? without writing a script
