I have posted a similar question in other parts of theforum... but I wonder if anyone with API experience might have donethis or thinks that it can be done?
Can you extract the dimensions displayed in a drawing, withtolerances, to a table? This would help our machine shop andpossibly our QA department by eliminating a very manual, mistakeprone data entry process.
While I have no API experience at this point, I would be willing totake suggestions to go in a possible direction with it?
Using the Design Table function for this is too cumbersome -carries too much information from the part, including redundantdimensions or absorbed features that aren't influential in the endpart drawing. I believe this has to come from a finalized, dimensioned and toleranced drawing in order to be helpful.
It would be even better to list with location coordinates. I may bedreaming on that, but some drawings are rather busy and it wouldnot always be easy to locate a dimension from a straight list -though even that is a huge step. It would be a little helpful tohave a way to identify even just the sheet number in some cases.Perhaps the extraction could be done on a single sheet at a time.
I have submitted this as an enhancement request because it seems asthough this would be an achievable feature from that end.
Thanks,
