has anyone else's company moved out of the usa?

my company is moving most of our manufacturing to saltillo, mexico. we are currently in the process of installing machinery andgetting the building setup. i was down there for 10 days beforex-mas helping out and i have to say i was very sad by what i saw.saltillo is about an hour outside of monterrey. so when we drovefrom the monterrey airport to saltillo i saw so many us companiesout there. i couldn't help but be a little sad. i saw chrysler, gm,peterbuilt, caterpillar, john deere, ge-whirpool just to name afew.

we have an 80 man factory here in new jersey and 35 of those menand women are going to be losing their jobs at the end of january.it really is a shame. while i was down there i got to go to dinnera few times with the executives at my company and they told mehealthcare was what prompted them to look at options outside of thestates. obviuosly that isn't the only reason for the move but thatis what prompted it. the fact that they will get tremendous taxbreaks played a part too as well as the cheap labor. the averagefactory worker we will employ there will earn 3000 peso a day whichis roughly 30 us dollars.

luckily for me all the engineering will continue to be done in njbut i can't help but wonder for how long. i'm wondering if a fewyears from now i will be looking for work?SolidworksGeneral
